WINSTON SILL - One of the models that attempted to create the right atmosphere for the Suave Entertainment promotion event 'Be My Valentine, A Red and White Affair', held at Little Copa, Bull Bay, on Tuesday.
SUAVE ENTERTAINMENT'S VALENTINE'S Day 'Red and White Affair' at the Little Copa Club, Eight Miles, Bull Bay, fell way short of the promise of the word 'suave'.
There was hardly any sophistication to the night's proceedings and with pauses between the different segments of the models' appearances, it did not run smoothly. Neither were the five or six models who appeared as the night's sole live entertainment in any way suave.
And the supposedly seductive crawl off-stage after the lingerie section did not help; neither did a screaming MC who introduced 'Sexy B', 'Rachel' and 'Lil Kim', among others.
LOW TURNOUT
There was a very low turnout up until when THE STAR left after the modelling. There were only some young men seated at the front of the raised stage having a worm's eye view of the proceedings and a few scattered elsewhere.
Coming up to midnight, the selectors went Jamaican oldies and rockers, Everything I Own, Silver Words and Ol Man River. The first of a string of Dennis Brown songs which also included Ghetto Girl and Little Green Apples echoing from the open-top Little Copa to the full moon-lit sky. The beat was changed with Love Come Down, Aint No Stopping Us and Holiday, before the models came out.
Evening wear, lingerie and swimwear were presented, the latter two especially showing an attempt at coordination as for the former, the models grouped up around Lil Kim, as she reclined on a cushion, before the crawl off and for the latter, they held poses on the railing at the edge of the stage, as well as on the stage itself.
The music continued after the fashion show.
