Dear Pastor,
I wrote to you and my letter was published 'Little beating belly born yard.' I am still having a problem with the same man. We are still apart but the problem is that he is still not supporting his son. The same day we went to court was the same day you published my letter. We have been in court from March 2001 until now. The judge made an order for him to pay me $1,500 per week and stand all medical expenses until the child gets older.
NO CHANCE
Pastor, from that time until now, I have been suing him and when he goes to court he tells the judge lies and she believes what he has to say without even giving me a chance. He took me to court twice, seeking custody of my son. When we went to court the judge ordered a probation report. I am living in Kingston and he is living in Portmore so we both see separate officers. When I went to King Street, the lady I spoke with told me the father had a better chance of getting the child because I don't spend enough time with my son. I couldn't speak another word, I just left her office mad and went back to work.
NO RIGHTS
For one whole year this man hasn't helped me in any way with my son. Even in court we don't have rights. I took him back to court in December for the entire year of 2004 and when he came to court he told the judge that he is mad that after several appearances in court, things haven't changed. Now we are in 2005 and it's the same thing. We returned to court in May 2005 and before my name was even called, he was in front giving the judge his sad story and she bought it without giving me a chance to explain myself.
Every time I take out a summons it costs me five hundred dollars and I'm paying bus fare to and from court and I'm not getting anywhere. I'm just tired of this foolishness. I'm not a lazy person but the work that I'm doing I cannot manage. It's not an easy road, sometimes we pretend we can manage things like this and we can't. Then we throw the burden on our children and that's where we become evil to the world.
The $1,500 per week he has to pay can't do a thing for my son. For one whole year he has not paid the $1,500 per week and he also hasn't paid for half of this year from January to May 2005. He is joking and the justice system needs more to help save our country.

Dear D. R.,
Don't go back to court without a lawyer. Have a lawyer to help you deal with this matter. It is better to pay a lawyer than to try to defend yourself in court. If you don't retain a lawyer, you may never receive justice.
