Twin of Twins' final response to Black-er

Recording artistes Twins of Twins read the article published in THE STAR yesterday in which Black-er strikes back at them for comments made about the song 'Bun Him' done with Macka Diamond. - IAN ALLEN

AFTER THE PUBLICATION of the story "Black-er Strikes Back at Twins" in yesterday's STAR, the Twin of Twins have decided to give their final response on the issue.

In the story, Black-er, while performing at the Bob Marley celebration in Trench Town, accused the twins of calling him "Black-her" and not his real name "Black-er. Black-er decided to lash back at them, saying: "Mi nuh deal wid b...yman. Anyone call a man a woman is a b...yman. We nuh chat to b...yman."

According to the Twins, they never had a problem with Black-er or Macka Diamond. "We never call Macka name before Sumfest. Macka went on Sumfest and counteracted our song called I need Vagina. This was Sumfest 2k5. Now she said, "We need vagina, she need money ... we tired of bringing chocolate and rose, take her to the store to buy some clothes." Nothing nuh wrong with that. The place mash up and me laugh. Me see har backstage and me say 'Macka everything nice now, yuh can listen out fi my thing."

"... So we say 'Macka said this on Sumfest and this is our reply' and say 'Do you want to hear it' because we don't want any misunderstanding: I will not have it, girls like Macka and them real dirty habit, teaching the girl dem to ... like rabbit, and when man a sleep yuh gone wid dem wallet ... And me notice seh me start see her at the studio dem and is some little quick 'hi'. And me say: A whaapen to Macka"?

They say Macka Diamond and Black-er have misunderstood the reason for their response.

MALE QUALITIES

"I don't know Macka as no b....h, bout no money dis and dat; one man Macka have. I think what hurts them is that they are telling fans to live a lifestyle whe dem not living and we just draw attention to the fact deh and this is what hurt Macka and turn into animosity on her side."

They briefly explained their problem with Black-er, or rather, his song.

"Hear how the Black-er thing come in now. Macka keep a birthday bash about three years ago and I see Black-er. I know Blacka Ranks years now, why didn't I attack him from before? We did not call him 'Black-her'. He called himself Black-her. He proclaimed himself general in the female army, and that is what Macka start call him and address him. He was the headline on all the female army tours."

"... Our problem with the song that them do is not the fact that them a say 'bun him' ... We a talk bout Black-er as a man or a male representative. You are a man Black-er whether you believe it or not. Get in touch with your male qualities please. Every show we go on we are quick to explain that we don't know Black-er as a homosexual, we don't know Black-er as funny, so how this new thing?

They say they would not have opposed the song if Macka Diamond had teamed up with another female for the song. "We never attack him when him say him name 'her'. Him come now, 'bun him, tek man pon him. He wasn't representing as a man ... is usually a woman that do that. Now if Lady Saw or Ce'cile or Spice did do the song with Macka, you wouldn't hear Twin of Twins. We are not trying to turn public opinion from their song and we are not trying to cause segregation among fans."

"Now we see Black-er go innah STAR and a say any man who see any man as a woman is a b...yman. What I call Black-er is a man skettel, meaning a man personifying a skettel. You don't become a woman, you are still a man. We naw call yuh girl, you are not our type of girl.

So what him say, that really hurt because people been going to Black-er and saying the Twin dem a call yuhyman and say this and that.

THE MEETING

However, according to the Twins, a meeting was held before all this with Black-er during which both parties agreed to resolve the issue.

"Kingy from Big Yard, is a very peaceful youth and him say him see what is about to happen so him call we and say 'Black-er want to have a meeting'. If we did hate him we wouldn't go ah no meeting. Me did upset at the time but me still go. Black-er say a peer ting it a cause, but we a say, Black-er yuh nuh see a try we a try help yuh cause the man dem out a road a call yuh byman and dem ting deh ... But he still trying to buy into this whole I am a victim thing and we envy him."

FINAL WORDS

The Twins say they will resolve the issue by speaking on it for the last time.

"Macka we love yuh. Yuh leg dem look good, yuh nice and attractive. Me nuh wake up and a think bout you and Black-er in a bad light and there is no hate there," Patrick said.
