Mother seeks help to bury son

The late Damion Sinclair - CONTRIBUTED

THE MOTHER OF one of the men found dead in a gully off Maxfield Avenue, St. Andrew, two weeks ago is seeking help to lay him to rest.

Damion Sinclair was a juice vendor outside the Melrose Primary and Junior High School, but was found dead on January 18, and now his family cannot afford the funeral expenses.

Sinclair, of Fourth Street, and Orlando Murray, 16, of Lower Second Street, both in Rema, St. Andrew, were found dead hours after being abducted the previous day.

Police reports are that the deceased persons, along with, another 17-year-old youth, were walking along Maxfield Avenue when they were approached by armed men who forced them into a car. They were reportedly taken to premises near Rousseau Road where they were bound and gagged and shot repeatedly.

SERIOUS CONDITION

The 17-year-old managed to escape and was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) where he was admitted in serious condition.

With Sinclair's death, his mother, Joan Fagan, and his twin sister, Dazian Sinclair, have lost their provider and cannot find the money to bury him.

Fagan first appeared in THE STAR in September 2002, seeking help for her children, who had not received an education since primary school. The pair received assistance and attended JAMAL and completed that three years ago.

When Damian completed school and he started to sell juice outside Melrose. Using the meagre earnings he managed to care for his family.

Fagan is again appealing for the public to help her in the manner they did years ago. She said while he could be buried on land in the country, she will still need money to pay for other funeral arrangements. "Mi stressed out, and I have sugar and have to be taking insulin. I just want some help to bury him," she said.

Persons wishing to assist Fagan may contact her or her daughter Dazian at 891-7066.
