Football clash continues tomorrow

BY ANTHONY MINOTT,PORTMORE STAR Writer

ANTHONY MINOTT - Caymanas Gardens Site D goalkeeper Richard Vidol (#22), blocks a pass intended for Daytona's Ricardo Orrett during the teams' WIHCON sponsored Portmore Division Two Football League at the Passagefort playfield on Sunday.

THE PASSAGEFORT AND Hellshire United clash at 'The Valley' in Hellshire, highlights the sixth round of matches in the WIHCON-sponsored Portmore Division Two Football League which continues tomorrow afternoon. Match time is 3:00 p.m.

The Passagefort/Hellshire match-up is one of five matches on in the competition.

The curtain-raiser at 1:00 p.m. at Hellshire sees Silverstone FC, currently on five points, battling Caymanas Gardens Site D on six points. Caymanas Gardens Site D is coming off a shock 1-0 win over Daytona FC last Sunday at the Passagefort playfield.

Over at the Passagefort playfield, Daytona FC match skills with Newtown at 3:00 p.m., a match the latter needs to win to have a chance to qualify for the mid-season final scheduled for next Sunday, February 5. Prior to that match, high-riding Wanderers FC will face Westport at 1:00 p.m. While in the lone game at Greater Portmore, Greater Portmore lock horns with the dangerous Passagefort FC outfit.

The Passagefort United/Hellshire United match does not have any significance to the mid-season final as aggregate points of all teams in the competition are calculated after the fifth round of matches.

Passagefort United are on 10 points from five games and Hellshire are on nine points also from five games. Both teams should be looking for better results than last week's effort. Passagefort went down 0-1 to Wanderers last Sunday while Hellshire drew 0-0 with Greater Portmore.
