TWO OF THREE persons charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and conspiracy, were remanded in custody when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday. The lone female, Diana Williams, was granted bail in the sum of $100,000.
Also charged are, Kimon Rochester and Kevin Thompson, who is facing additional charges of receiving stolen property. Reports are that between 10 p.m. on October 14 and 3 p.m. on October 15, the complainant's white Toyota Harrier was driven away from his gate.
On Thursday January 12, the complainant was driving along Washington Boulevard when he noticed that the vehicle proceeding before him resembled his car that was stolen. He called the police and followed the vehicle. Upon reaching Olympic Way, the vehicle was intercepted with the help of police.
Thompson, the driver, along with the other two occupants, exited the car. Thompson reportedly told the complainant that he bought the vehicle for 1.2 million dollars from a man who had migrated. The complainant managed to identify the vehicle as his by producing the relevant documents.
The three were arrested and charged. All three pleaded not guilty and are to return to court on February 17. The vehicle was released to the complainant on a $500,000 bond.
