KAVELLE ANGLIN-CHRISTIE, Staff Reporter

ANTHONY MINOTT - Busy Signal speaks to a caller during the recent call session held at the Gleaner company.BUSY SIGNAL'S CALL in session on Wednesday evening was full of excitement, and kept him grinning for the most part.

It was mostly women who called in, and for the most part they didn't believe it was him. "No, me nuh believe, yuh haffi sing something fi mi," one said.

"Busy, busy, bus-zay/Busy, busy, bus-zay/I'm so bus-zay...," he sang from a portion of his song Busy Busy Busy.

"Aaaah! Aaah! Oh my God! I can't believe that is really you! Oh, my God! I love you," she screamed over and over. "Seriously, I need you to know that I ... love ... you." she now whispered.

"Yeah man ah me; so me never tell you seh ah me, boo?" he said.

That seemed to happen with every phone call. "Wha mek dem ah gwaan so?" he laughed, all the time raising his eyebrows.

One woman's son called in and basically pulled off a PR move for his mother, "My mother write song ennuh. She write rap, reggae, soul everything." When she came on the phone, she told Busy that she was a fan who wanted to work with him. He took her number and said they would be in touch.

Another call came in and Busy couldn't help laughing. "Alright...yeah, yeah, so me call een now, so wha?"

Busy paused. "Wha yuh mean?"

"So me ah go get yuh now or what? Dat me mean? Wha?"

He laughed.

Others who called in, gave their numbers, but Busy insisted that he wanted to know what they looked like, "Yuh send in your number yet for the date? Wha yuh mean which date? Yuh nuh read THE STAR? Yeah man if yuh send in yuh picture before Friday and put your name, you can get chosen to go on the date."

"No sah me cyaan bodder wid dat. Dat ah too much work fi me, and me live too far," said the Ocho Rios caller.

Busy wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. It ended with a 'maybe'.

At the end of the call-in, Busy was quite pleased about the response of the fans, saying, "Me cyaan believe a so much a dem call. All some ah dem, nuh easy ennuh; me ah tell yuh."
