TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY IS moving into a new direction and I would like to share it with you. Recently Microsoft Corporation launched a number of services which are classified as 'Live'. These services will surely lower the cost of software development for the company and allow us the end-user to leverage newer technology within the shortest time possible.
There are two areas of the live services, Windows Live and Office Live.
Windows Live is currently in beta, and users can register to test the various features from a new central Web site located at Live.com. Live.com has its roots in MSN's Start.com portal, while adding support for Web-based versions of Microsoft Gadgets that will work with the Windows Sidebar in Vista.
Under the Windows Live, you will find several other products of great interest.
Windows Live Products include:
Windows LiveTM Mail Beta
Windows LiveTM Messenger Beta
Windows LiveTM Mail - mobile beta
Live.com
Windows LiveTM Search - mobile beta
Windows Live Safety Center
Within the coming weeks I will be featuring (individually) these different services. I am going to give the pros and cons of these services.
The live concept is to bring new software quicker to the market. It will also serve as a means of lowering the cost of owning software. These live services will be available via the Internet, so users will have no installation and maintenance to worry about.
Personally, I like the idea of the 'Live' offerings, and would suggest that you try these services.
