Infant shot in August Town

THE HOLIDAY DID little to pacify gunmen in August Town, St. Andrew, as a man was shot dead and a baby injured after gunmen invaded a home in African Gardens.

Residents told police that at about 10 p.m. on Monday, explosions were heard coming from a residence. Upon investigation, police discovered the body of Nicoy Richards, along with a 12-month-old baby, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were both taken to hospital, where Richards was pronounced dead, and the baby admitted in serious condition.

The St. Andrew Central Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
