BLACK RIVER
A SUMMONS WAS served on deejay Leonard 'Merciless' Bartley, on Saturday for him to appear in the Black River RM Court on Wednesday, January 4.
Deputy Superintendent Maurice Robinson, in charge of operations in St. Elizabeth, served 'Merciless' with the summons on Market Street in Black River, after he performed at a concert in Malvern.
He was charged under the Town and Communities Act for using indecent and obscene lyrics in a public place.
DSP Robinson who was at the Font Hill Beach extravaganza, on Sunday December 18, took Merciless off the stage while he was performing a duo with Ninja Man. He was hitting out against gays and lesbians and speaking other profanities.
Capleton was not allowed on stage, as he was told by DSP Robinson not to get into any act that incited hate against any person or organisation. He told the superintendent that he had to "bun the Queen and the commissioner." With this attitude he was not allowed on stage, and the show was eventually stopped by the superintendent.
