Patrons in 'Euphoria'

TEINO EVANS, Staff Reporter

IT WAS JUST what the promoters had promised, a feeling of great happiness or well-being.

That was indeed the defined mood for the patrons last Friday night at DNA Entertainment's ultra inclusive glitz and glamour edition of 'Euphoria' held at the Morgan's Harbour Hotel and Marina.

The event, treated patrons to much music, food and juices of all sorts, along with the scenic backdrop of the harbour.

Everything at this 'Euphoria' party was for the comfort of the patrons who attended.

With two bar areas on either sides of the main party area, the selector's booth located towards the centre and two serving areas for food and a third bar on the outskirts of the main party area, patrons did not have to venture far from the main action in order to replenish their supply of liquor and food.

Most patrons seemed content with meeting, greeting and indulging in food and liquor in the early part of the night, but that focus appeared to shift later on. The likes of DJ Jazzy T from the Renaissance Disco, DJ Richie B and other selectors, made no reservation in spinning a music fiesta on the turntables.

"Wi jus a warm up for Euphoria," DJ Jazzy T said as he spun some of the hottest hip hop and R&B tracks.

The selectors neatly worked in the vibes, as patrons were moved through the different genres of popular music.

It was good to go for the dancehall segment which started to heat up after 2 a.m., as a number of tunes off the Diwalli Rhythm were featured, before selectors gave some attention to Elephant Man's reportoire. A series of his dance songs were played, among them Blasé, Signal Di Plane, Willie Bounce and others.

The night would not be complete, however, if the soca fans were not treated to a segment where they were Tempted To Touch and determined to get some Nookie tonight.

More dancehall welcomed the early morning, as patrons, filled to capacity with food, liquor and a whale of a time, had no complaints by the time they were finally ready to make the journey out of Morgan's Harbour, many taking that feeling of 'Euphoria' with them.
