Back bench hanky panky

Dear Pastor,

I'm a 14-year-old Christian and I like to go on the Internet to read the different problems that you have to deal with. I just want to show my admiration for what you are doing for people who are in sticky and confusing situations. Keep it up Pastor, good job.

However, I'm experiencing a little problem. There is a girl who doesn't like my cousin and me because we don't put up with her slackness. She and her sister are involved in sexually related activities in the back of the church with their boyfriends. I am a Christian and I don't put up with that slackness. My cousin and I are trying to prevent them from getting into trouble, but they have maliced us and if they could kill us right now, they would. That's how much they hate us. The worse part is we were all baptised the same time. That little girl and her sister need some prayer.

Please pray for the young people of our church. Thank you and may God bless you and your business some more!

T. C., Florida, U.S.A.

Dear T. C.,

Thank you for your letter. I am glad to know that you are endeavouring to serve the Lord. Young people in the church and out of the church have problems. When they are in the church one expects them to live by certain Christian principles and it is for that reason churches have young people's groups and special activities geared for the youth. During young people's meeting, problems such as sex, family life, dating and proper grooming, etc ... are discussed.

I suggest therefore that these matters you have mentioned be raised with your spiritual leaders and that they be discussed in the young people's meetings and seminars, etc. Sometimes, it becomes necessary to speak to individuals privately about their conduct. Leaders are to be informed of those who have become careless and rebellious.

Don't be overly concerned about the negative things others are saying about you. Seek to walk sprightly.

Pastor
