"MI DID WANT to help out wid mi grandmother funeral, your honour," Richard Anderson, told the judge when he appeared in the Montego Bay RM Court, yesterday on drug charges.
Anderson, who pleaded guilty to possession of, dealing in, and attempting to export hashish, said he was transporting drugs to assist with his grandmother's funeral expenses. He will be sentenced next Monday after RM Winsome Henry reviews his police records.
The reports are that on Tuesday he went to the Sangster International airport in Montego Bay and checked in to board an Air Jamaica flight to Miami. His suitcase was searched at the security check point and in a compartment was found to contain a rectangular shaped plastic package containing hashish weighing nine pounds.
