THE EDITOR, Madam:
On Wednesday, September 21, at approximately 4:45 p.m., I was at a location where a television set was turned on in plain view and was simply appalled at the programme being offered by CVM-Television at that hour. The images on the screen consisted of angry-looking men clad in all manner of strange attire, some with guns in plain view, skimpily-clad women gyrating suggestively, etc. These were videos which the viewing public was being asked to vote for. I don't know who is in charge of television programming at CVM-Television, but I would think that type of programme content would perhaps be more suitable at a much later hour, certainly not between 4 and 6 p.m. when impressionable youngsters are home from school and likely to be watching television. I am not here advocating censorship, only asking that the manage-ment and staff of CVM-TV display greater responsibility when selecting programmes for different time periods. I am, etc., HARRY GRAHAM 60 Hope Road Kingston 6
