THE SEXUAL ASSAULT case brought against two men by a nine-year-old St. James girl will be mentioned again in Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court next Wednesday.
One of the accused men, a 26-year-old Westmoreland resident, was granted $250,000 bail on Wednesday, with the condition that he stays away from the child's community.
His co-accused, who lives in the complainant's community, was remanded to settle his legal representation.
ALLEGATIONS
The allegations outlined to the court are that on five occasions this year, one of the accused, who is involved with one of the child's female relatives, sexually assaulted the minor when there were no adults around. The last occasion was on September 17.
The minor was taken to a medical doctor after her mother made some disturbing observa-tions. The court learnt that when the physician interviewed the girl, she revealed that her relative's consort had allegedly assaulted her.
Further allegations are that the second man was implicated when the child made a report to the police following her doctor's visit.
The court also learnt that the minor had named others who allegedly assaulted her but they have not yet been arrested
