HART HILL, A small district about two miles from Buff Bay, Portland, is a great example of what any community in Jamaica can do once everyone works together. While I was driving by, I first noticed all the desks and chairs outside on the grass of the Hart Hill Basic School.

Being a curious photographer, I decided to stop and have a look. That's when I met Mrs. Levan Blye, who informed me that parents and guardians of students decided to pave the floor of the school and build a kitchen so the students could have a hot meal and be comfortable at the same time. Previously, the floor was just rough concrete. This just goes to show that with a little cooperation anything is possible.
