Correctional Officer Wayne Livermore of Kingston 11, was arrested on Monday after he was reportedly held with drugs at the St. Catherine Adult Correctional Centre.
Livermore, was reportedly held with several ounces of ganja, rum, cigarettes, DVDs and other contraband.
Reports from the Spanish Town police are that about 2:00 p.m. they were called to the prison. Upon their arrival Mr. Livermore was caught with three ounces of ganja in five packages with masking tape, 500mm of white rum, two cases of cigarettes, wriggles and DVDs.
He was charged with possession of and dealing in ganja. He was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 at the Spanish Town lock-up the same afternoon. According to Detective Sergeant V. Mitchell, Livermore will face the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's court on Tuesday, September 27.
