ASCOT HIGH WILL get an opportunity to lead Group 'F' when they oppose Spanish Town tomorrow in ISSA/Pepsi/JN Manning Cup action.
Ascot played to a 1-1 draw with St. Catherine in their first game but missed a game against Wolmer's because of a water logged field.
Last year Ascot, had a team that hinted at quality. With some of those players returning this season, they may provide more interest in the group than at first thought.
The favourites to come out of the group of course are Wolmer's and Donald Quarrie, but Ascot may have something to say about that.
Resistance
Their opposition, Spanish Town, may provide some resistance by mere virtue of the fact that they would be eager to do better than their 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Donald Quarrie on Monday.
However, if they lack the requisite quality, the hardworking Ascot team just might have an easy day in the park.
In the other game on tomorrow, St. Catherine, who lost to Wolmer's on Monday, need to get back into the swing of things if they are to stick with the leaders in the early stages of the competition.
They will hope to do that against Innswood.
With one point from two games, St. Catherine could find themselves far behind, when Wolmer's, Donald Quarrie who lead the group with seven points from three games, and possibly Ascot, push forward.
After a tough 2-1 loss to Wolmer's in an away fixture, St. Catherine are hungry to get into the winners' circle.
Innswood, the team that they are scheduled to play, won't be walk-overs. While Donald Quarrie romped to victory against St. Catherine, they found the going a little tougher against Innswood, who they clipped in a 2-1 affair.
All games begin at 3:30 p.m.
