GANG WARFARE IN Hannah Town took the life of another vendor outside the Kingston Public Hospital on Monday night.
The dead man has been identified as David Duncan otherwise called 'Christopher' or 'David', a vendor from Hannah Town, Kingston.
Duncan is the second vendor to be killed at the entrance of the KPH in six months. He is also the third vendor to be shot near the KPH as well during that time frame.
Earlier this year, gunmen shot and killed Claudette Clarke in what was believed to be a gang feud in the area at the time. Some months later, a woman, who is also believed to be a vendor, was shot and injured along with another woman in the area.
On Monday night, Duncan was killed while at his stall. The police believe his death may have been as a result of a shooting which took place near the Hannah Town Police Station on Saturday night in which a man was shot and injured.
The police believe that both shootings were linked to an ongoing gang feud in the area. So far the police have failed to identify any suspects in connection with the incident. They were unable to confirm if the deceased was a deportee but added he was not wanted for any crimes in the area.
The Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) reports that Duncan was shot dead at about 8:00 p.m. The CCN said shots were fired near the KPH and Duncan's body was later seen with gunshot wounds.
The police are theorising that he may have been killed by men who were seen loitering in the area minutes before his death. Vendors in the area were mum about the incident adding that they had no idea why someone would kill Duncan.
But, his death was not the only one in the Kingston western division on Monday night as there were three deaths in one hour. Elsewhere, 28-year-old Orville Whyte of Torrington Park and Keneshal Farquharson 25, of Arnett Gardens were killed in separate shootings.
Whyte was reportedly shot and killed on a playing field in the community minutes after 8:30 p.m. while Farquharson's body was found with gunshot wounds in her area at 9:00 p.m. The police said none of the deaths were related.
