CLARENDON
RICHARD BLAKE, 28, was sentence to six months hard labour in the May Pen Resident Magistrate's Court before Senior RM Glen Brown on Monday.
Blake, from Sandy Bay district, Clarendon was found guilty of larceny.
The court heard that Blake was charged by the Clarendon police on August 31, 2005 after a generator, valued at $85,000, went missing. Investigations led to the accused man.
The investigating officer, Detective Corporal McKenzie, told the court that when Blake was first questioned, he denied taking the equipment. Later he admitted knowing where it was and said his friend took it to St. Elizabeth.
The complainant told the court that since Blake's arrest, she has been receiving death threats. She pointed out there was an increase in theft in Sandy Bay and recalled several instances where she and neighbours had lost properties.
Before handing down sentencing, RM Brown told the complainant "he won't be bothering you for a next six months".
