SERIAL RAPIST LOOSE 14 victims in five months

A SERIAL RAPIST is on the loose in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and has so far sexually assaulted at least 14 women, the Spanish Town police are reporting.

According to the police since May, the rapist, who is believed to be a taxi operator, has sexually assaulted 14 women between the ages of 12 and 24 all over Spanish Town. The police report that of this number eight or nine are girls attending high school.

The police said the man usually goes up to a woman at a bus stop, but who is standing there alone. He allegedly asks the women where they are going. The man then tells his would be victim that he is going in their direction whenever they respond. When the complainants agree, he reportedly holds them at gun point and takes them to a lonely area where they are sexually assaulted.

It is reported that after the incident the girls are taken back to the location where they were picked up or are left in the same area.

The police said it has been difficult to catch the serial rapist because he uses different vehicles each time he commits an offence. They said based on the statements they have received so far, he has also used both white and red plates on the vehicles.

In addition, the police said the rapist uses the same modus operandi in carrying out his act in that he does not use a condom. They said based on the description given by the victims, they are convinced that it is the same person who has committed all these offences. As a result they are encouraging women to be careful while travelling.
