ON MONDAY WHILE some were busy preparing for yesterday's massive demonstrations, others were planning on kidnapping an elderly woman.
And just like how the demonstrations went on so too did the 'stealing' of the 62-year-old woman who was taken from her home in Lincoln, Manchester in 'broad daylight' by two armed men.
Police say at approximately 1:45 pm, two armed men drove up in a white Toyota motorcar (registration number unknown), and entered the unlocked premises in Nottingham District, where Oneita Sharpe-Roberts was tending to her grandchildren. The grandmother was then forced into the vehicle, and kidnapped.
According to her son, Oral Roberts, the incident occurred a few minutes after another relative had left the house, indicating that the kidnappers may have been in surveillance of the premises.
Roberts added that there was no word on the condition of his mother, as there was no ransom note left, and up to press time they were yet to receive a call from the kidnappers.
The family is appealing to the kidnappers for the safe return of the elderly woman and pleaded for someone to contact them on the matter at 847-4910, 875-3265, or 961-1677.
"Whatever they want we will give it to them, I just want my mother returned safe as soon as possible," stated a distraught Roberts.
