HARDROCK ENTERTAINMENT IS now the home of dancehall artistes Delly Ranks and Angel.
The two were signed to the label last month after Hardrock Entertainment CEO, Ian Coke, expressed interest in managing their careers. The signing comes months after the label dropped crooner Daville who was reported as not fulfilling his obligation.
The company has settled that break-up and according to Mr. Coke, the focus is now on the two year contracts he has signed with Delly and Angel.
"Hardrock Entertainment has offered them a two year exclusive booking contract and on the flip side I will be doing PR for them," he said.
Mr. Coke is pleased with the new signing and says the acts have something to offer the company and in return they are prepared to help with the development of their careers.
"Delly Ranks is a great signing, he carries with him a lot of experience, does engineering, is a very good writer and will serve as an asset to the company. Angel's development shouldn't be hard because she is used to being out there. She is not a shy person and we will be working to portray an image for her," he explained.
Pure joy
When THE STAR spoke with Angel, there was a trace of joy in her voice. "Thus far things look positive and I think I will enjoy a long term relationship with Hardrock Entertainment," she said.
According to Angel the signing was as a result of her marketing herself in a professional manner.
"I went out and did my thing and they recognised the talent in me. They have a positive outlook and are also responsible for Lady Saw's career. Talk carries a sting both locally and internationally, and will be able to aid in my development," she reasoned.
Angel went on to explain that she thinks the new signing will help to make her dream of producing an album sometime next year a reality.
"They are making me into a more rounded artiste. I want to go international and early next year I will be working on my album," she explained.
Mr. Coke went on to cement this claim, adding that Hardrock Entertainment will be playing the role of executive producers on Angel's upcoming album. Delly Ranks was unavailable for comment as he is on tour overseas.
Hardrock Entertainment also manages international recording artiste Lady Saw, who recently created waves in the music industry with her album Strip Tease.
