CLARENDON
THE DEATH OF Mrs. Cenolin Williams, 43, a housewife of McNie district, Clarendon, and the injury of three teenage boys in the same incident, has left residents of the community saddened.
The community is yet to come to grips with the belief that one of their more respected member was electrocuted and died after lightning struck her on Wednesday.
The injured boys are at the St. Ann's Bay Hospital in stable condition.
Mrs. Williams was said to be on one of her goodwill missions, assisting in food preparation for a resident who had died. A member of that household said, "I was standing at the side of the house when I heard lightning. I looked and saw Jean lying on the ground with the boys around her. I shouted for help and others came and helped to take them to the main road where they could get a taxi to a hospital."
Another resident, Miss Campbell, said the deceased was one of the most helpful persons in the community. "Anything, any dead yard you can call Jean to help," she said.
