Man brought back to face charges

By RASBERT TURNER, STAR Writer

spanish town

A 29-YEAR-OLD MAN who fled the island for The Bahamas after receiving bail on gun-related charges, was taken back into custody after police officers from Spanish Town, St. Catherine, went there to escort him back.

Robert Craig of Jobs Lane will face the Spanish Town RM court next Tuesday, after a bench warrant was executed on him for illegal possession of firearm, shooting with intent and ascending bail.

Detective Sergeant Paul Thomas, told THE STAR that in January 2003, Craig was charged by the police, and his case transferred to the Gun Court where he was granted bail.

He fled the island to The Bahamas in August 2004, under the name Marlon Anthony Brown.

His luck ran out on August 9, when he was taken into custody in The Bahamas for threatening his girlfriend with violence. The Jamaican police were contacted and arrangements were made to escort him home.
