A pioneer passes away
THE EDITOR, Madam:
News came out in the media recently that the late James Doohan, an actor from the original sixties era of Sci-Fi TV show Star Trek passed away. A man who was a member of the pioneering group of elite cast-members of Star Trek, James Doohan's character 'Scotty', the engineering officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise, was one of those very convincing characters that inspired many people who are today leading scientists, engineers and astronauts in their professions. The creator of Star Trek, the late Gene Roddenberry developed the show over the years influencing many Sci-Fi TV shows today. James Doohan will be remembered on video/DVD for years to come and to the fans he will 'live long and prosper'. I am, etc., BALDWIN COLLINS St. Elizabeth
