DEAR PASTOR,
I am deaf and living in U.S. I am kind of confused. I presently have feelings for someone that I have known for a few years.
We were dating, so we still see each other a few times a year. He says that he thinks of us more than just friends.
Whenever we see each other, we always talk and have sex. He has feelings for me more than I have for him.
Do you think it is right that we see each other a few times, and have sex, yet we are not going steady? Is it right or should we end our relationship?
K., New York
Dear K,
I can understand why your friend said that you are more than just friends.
The relationship is more than friendship because it involves sex. I cannot encourage you to have sex with this young man.
He is meeting your biological needs and you are doing the same for him, but you don't really love him, so the relationship is of a sexual nature. This guy may be using you. I suggest that you end the relationship and stop the confusion that is in your mind.
