KNOCK ON WOOD

DEAR PASTOR,

I am in love with a Jamaican man. He does not know it because I try my best to keep my feelings hidden. He is single and intelligent and very handsome. I know many women want him and I realise I am not the first female he has ever met.

What I am asking is how do I tell him how important he is to me without scaring him off? Thank you and God Bless.

K. C., Westmoreland

Dear K.C.,

You can show interest in a man without expressing it to him verbally. You can pay him compliments and mean it, without telling him that you love him. You can offer to do important things for him without him asking. You could offer to take him for lunch or dinner.

You may also suggest that he accompany you to see a movie or some other recreational activity. Believe me he would get the message. If at anytime you sense that he does not wish to be with you, don't push the issue, back off.On the other hand, you should never invite yourself to his house or invite him to yours until you know the man very well and an intimate relationship has developed. Never make yourself cheap.
