Two remanded on firearm, murder rap

By RASBERT TURNER, STAR Writer

spanish town

TWO MEN FROM the St. Johns Road area in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, were remanded in custody when they faced the Spanish Town RM court on Tuesday on charges of illegal possession of firearm and murder.

The men are Andre 'Tafus' Ennis, 20, and 28-year-old Omar 'Chinna Man' Stewart.

The court heard that on June 26, both men rode up to the now deceased Jason O'Connor, who was walking along Westmore Drive in Spanish Town. Both men shouted out to O'Connor and said, "Oh, a you dat man", the court heard.

Shot

They then drew handguns and started to fire shots at O'Connor, who ran and was shot in the back of the head. He died on the spot. Another man, who saw what was going on, ran into a gully and was shot at several times but managed to escape.

Following investigation by the police in Spanish Town, both men were picked up on July 29 and charged.

They will reappear in the Gun Court on August 26.
