CeCile - contributed
CeCILE HAS PARTED ways with her overseas Record Company Delicious Vinyl.
The saucy dancehall artiste confirmed with THE STAR recently that technically, the only thing left to completely separate her from the label is a signature from them on a contract. Apart from that, everything else has been severed.
Yes, I am definitely not with them anymore, CeCile told THE STAR.
I am basically free, it's just a matter of them signing their part of a contract to seal everything, she added.
Delicious Vinyl is based in Los Angeles and is the home of Mr. Vegas as well. Among the other artistes on its roster are American acts Buckwead, Chop Black, Brand New Heavies and others.
Different directions
CeCile told THE STAR that she and the company split because they were just pulling in different directions where her music was concerned.
I just did not feel that the direction I wanted to go that they were ready to go with it.
Quickly, she pointed out that it was not because of her knack for pushing the button with her songs, but rather, the creative path she wanted to take, they were not with it.
No it's not about me being too risky or anything like that, but where I wanted to be they were not ready, she explained.
THE STAR made checks with Delicious Vinyl Records, but we were referred to the labelŐs head, Mike Ross. Between last week and up to press time, repeated calls to Ross were unanswered.
CeCile said her focus now, was to put her music where she wants it to go. On her plate right now she said, was an acting gig in the upcoming Jamaican film Glory To Glorianna, which is directed by Lennie Little Whyte. Along with this, she said she has recorded tracks with Olivia of the G-Unit, producer Timbaland, Shaggy, and others for her upcoming album.
