Dear Pastor,
I am 23 years old and studying in the United Kingdom. All my relatives are in Jamaica. When I told them I wanted to come home they told me to stay because Jamaica is very hard.
However, I am having it even harder here; I don't know what to do. I cannot pay my rent. I am only doing two hours a day, trying to finish school to get my certificate so I can go to Jamaica and find a better job.
What should I do? Please pray a special prayer for me. Thank you very much. God bless.
D.W., London
Dear D.W.,
If it is your desire to return to Jamaica, do not allow anybody to discourage you from doing so. Work hard in school. Make sure you pass your examinations. Empower yourself to face the working world.
It is true that some people face uphill battles in Jamaica, but that is almost true just about anywhere. Ambitious people are not afraid of the challenges that confront them.
You know what you are feeling and you know that you can live better in the country of your birth, so I repeat, do not allow anyone to discourage you from returning home.
Pastor
