BOOTED - Touch, Clarke eliminated from Rising Stars

Keisha Clarke, performing Tony Braxton's 'Love' should have brought you home at the Rising Stars Preliminaries at the Knutsford Court Hotel recently. Keisha was booted from the studio finals based on public votes.

ON FRIDAY JULY 29's result show, two contestants who auditioned in Montego Bay were the first casualties to be eliminated at the studio finals.

Keisha Clarke and the group Touch, who both auditioned in Montego Bay, were last week eliminated based on the number of public votes that they received.

Clarke, though disappointed, said she was at ease, because she gave it her best and her fellow contestants really talented.

"I'm not too down, the other contestants that I was up against held their own. Were all became friends and I'm happy for them. I know that the persons that went through are good. I appreciated all the experience and exposure and a lot of people voted for me, but it's just that others got more votes, but the experience was good. I don't think I'd enter again next year, maybe something else," she said.

Clarke, however, says she will continue to follow the competition to see the outcome, despite declining to reveal her pick of the winners.

"It's hard to say who will be the next Rising Star, it's hard to say now, I don't want to say, because who I like other people may not like, but I'll keep watching the competition," Clarke said.

Despite the loss, members of Touch feel that they had gained much from being in the competition.

"We feel bad in a sense to know that we dropped out of the competition, but we have to just live with that. Rising Stars gave us good exposure and we have to just move forward with the group now. Next year we will definitely come back with more force, because we will be working on our harmonies and so on," group member, Christopher Parnell said.

Face, Christopher Martin, Chanti I, Prince J, and Natel were the five contestants to go through to the next round of the live studio finals.

The second eliminations will take place today, with a live studio finals being carried on TVJ on Sunday.
