'Maroomed' - Disrespecting siblings

DEAR PASTOR,

You are doing a wonderful job and may God bless you and keep you and your family safe. I am a 28- year-old woman living in St. Mary. I used to live with a young man. He and I have been apart for about two years now.

Now I live with my family which includes my mother, brother, stepsister and stepbrother. They don't have any behaviour at all. The room that we live in was built by my mother's boyfriend and I. Whenever I complain to my mother, she says she can't be bothered. She does not set any example for them and they have no manners to me. Some time ago I took home some money and I could not find it later when I was ready to go to work.

I want you to pray for them so that they will give me back my money. They are causing me to smoke and drink. I would also like you to pray for my mother so that she can encourage those in the house to have respect for me. Please pray for me also so that I will be able to build another room and live on my own because I can't take any more stress.

You are 28 years old. May I suggest therefore, that you move as far away as possible from your mother, her man friend and your siblings. St. Mary is a wonderful parish and if you look around, somebody may lease you a piece of land and you can build a house and live in peace. If you contribute to Housing Trust, you could look into the possibility of getting a house through them.

My dear, your happiness is important. Don't allow anybody to make you unhappy. Many times, some relatives get along better when they do not live together. My prayers are with you.
