MARIANN GREEN'S PREGNANCY brought her happiness. But her gynaecologist was concerned about her having fibroid, not realising that it was the presence of Khemar and Shemar - the joys of the Greens.
"I was excited about my wife's pregnancy but when I learnt of twins I was blown away,"recalled Kevin Green, the father of the boys.
The Greens reside in Innswood, Spanish Town, and are involved in the pharmaceutical business.
Two boys are not the only twins in the Green family. Mr. Green said he has a brother and sister who are twins and his wife's aunts are twins.
The couple found out about their twin when the doctor ordered an ultra sound to be taken. The first one revealed that there was a shadow behind the baby. This, Mr. Green said the doctor thought, was fibroid so approaching the seventh month another ultra sound was ordered. This was when they realised they would be having twins. The twins could be seen as one had moved from behind the other.
She had a caesarian birth and delivered two boys weighting four pounds each. The babies remained in the hospital until February 14, 2000.
Khemar is the smallest of the twins although he is the eldest. He is articulate and seems knowledgeable about himself.
"I like pretty plates, my favourite colour is pink, I like school. I like superman and batman games. I am five. I go to Dunrobin Primary," he boasted confidently.
Shemar is much bigger in size. "I like fish, my colours are green and white. I like to play spiderman and I like the cartoon. I am five," he said displaying his five fingers.
Kevin finds the eldest to be of "an inquisitive mind and he loves to write". He said both are loving, love fast cars and both of them have stated their intention of being a pilot.
