JAMAICANS VERONICA CAMPBELL, Davian Clarke and Vonette Dixon secured victories at yesterday's Helsinki Grand Prix inside the stadium set to stage next month's World Athletics Championships.
Olympic 200m champion Campbell secured her victory in the women's 100m, crossing the line in 11.12 ahead of the American duo Muna Lee (11.39) and Angela Daigle (11.48).
Clarke's victory came in the men's quarter mile. He was timed in in 45.53 ahead of South Africa's Odha Al-Bishi Hamdan (45.61) and Talkmore Nyongani Young of Zimbabwe (45.70).
Jamaica secured victory number three when Dixon, a Commonwealth Games silver medallist, won the women's 100m hurdles in 12.85.
Dixon, who was third at the National Trials, defeated American Virginia Powell (13.06) and Nadine Faustin-Parker of Haiti (13.08).
Lacena Golding-Clarke, who missed out on selection to Helsinki, failed to finish.
Novelene Williams, 51.09, was fifth in the women's 400m, won by DeeDee Trotter of the United States (50.39).
Shevon Stoddart's 56.90 was only good enough for seventh. Sandra Glover of the USA won the event in 54.27.
Dean Griffiths closed the gate in the men's 400m hurdles in 51.25 seconds.
Bayano Kamani of Panama won the event in 48.89.
Hyman Mardrea (4:07.96) and Hinds Korene (4:21.17) finished fifth and 10th respectively in the women's 1500m.
In the women's triple jump, Suzette Lee was third with a leap 13.84 metres. Sudan's Yamile Aldama won the event with 14.26m.
