ON THE BEAT would like to congratulate the Jamaica Constabulary Force Police National Football Team for the Kingston & St. Andrew Football Association run Major League.
For eight years the lawmen have been trying to achieve this feat, however they finally won the title after defeating Meadhaven Football Club in a penalty shoot-out earlier this year at the Harbour View Mini Stadium. The season saw the brave hardworking policemen under the guidance of their manager, Superintendent Harry Daley and coach Corporal Lewis playing several matches.
Such achievement is historic as the police have never won the Major League title before. The team will now parade their skills in the Super League in the coming season.
According to Supt. Daley "the effort was dedicated to former Supt. Bob Richards, a devoted sportsman who had managed the JCF Football Team in former years.
