AFTER APPROXIMATELY THREE months suspension, the weekly Uptown Mondays event is up and running again.
According to promoter Whitfield Henry, the event is coming back bigger and better. "It's gonna be bigger and better... more entertainers passing through as usual, more cash prizes, appliances giveaways, Richie Feelings, Foota Hype, Hotta Ball, Matterhorn, Sky Juice, andn Rebel T, to name a few," he said.
The event was suspended in May after the police clamped down on the event due to a statement made by a popular sound system selector at one of their weekly events at the Savannah Plaza, Constant Spring venue. The selector subsequently met with the commissioner of police and the issue was resolved.
Come this Monday, Mr. Henry says patrons will be in for a treat and total satisfaction is guaranteed. "We gonna have a special guest. One of the top deejays in the business will be passing through doing a live thing," he said.
Patrons can also come out and be safe, he said, due to the added security that will be provided at the event. King Alarm and the Half- Way Tree Police Station will provide the additional security.
Uptown Mondays is slated return on July 25, at Savannah Plaza, Constant Spring.
