LAST MONTH, THE STAR artiste for June, Turbulence, held a talent competition as part of his activities.
The event, which was held at the Aquarius Record Shop in Half- Way Tree, saw approximately 25 contestants turning out in their bid to win the first place prize of a once in a life time opportunity to record with fast rising deejay, Turbulence.
The winner, Elexcian Eldimire, whose stage name is 'Eldimire', says he was overjoyed with winning.
"Mi did breathless when mi hear mi win, mi feel joy inna mi self but mi haffi hold it down, mi always a hold a humbleness," Eldimire said.
Angel Eyes, an original song written by Eldimire, was what won him the first place spot.
Eldimire says he has been singing for some time, and has always wanted an opportunity like this to reach the public eye.
"Mi love di music because mi a sing from mi small, people haffi a tell mi seh fi shut up. And mi enter di talent competition because mi did jus want somebody fi si mi an discover mi talent. Mi really did want fi get the exposure an mi really did waan do a song wid Turbulence," he said.
Eldimire, who has already recording a few tracks for young producers, says he is looking forward to his collaboration with Turbulence.
"Mi voice couple tracks fi couple young producer already, but tru dem young, dem nuh really established in di business yet, suh dem a try get dem self out deh as well. Mi a look forward to doing a tune wid Turbulence cause is a yout weh mi like di energy suh mi would a love fi write a song wid him," Eldimire said.
