REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE media were given a preview of what promoters had in store for the 2005 Appleton Temptation Island (ATI) weekend of parties, at the launch at the Grog Shoppe, Devon House, on Tuesday.
The series of events will weave together some of Jamaica's top promoters and their parties under the ATI banner and present the public with 11 parties over four days.
In giving an overview of the events, Kevin Bourke, category manager of Appleton Jamaica Rum, outlined some of the plans that were being put in place, and urged patrons to enjoy themselves freely.
"It's the summer experience that everyone looks forward to and we want persons to come and enjoy themselves and be safe, so park your vehicles at the hotels and utilise the shuttles," he said. "We are working with the police in Negril, so just come out and be free. Many different vibes will be taking place at these parties."
Party spree
Alex Chin of Absolute Entertainment also spoke of the production details.
On Friday there will be two parties, 'First Fridays Jamaica' and 'Tempted'. On Saturday patrons will be treated to 'Beach Bounce', which will be full of games and giveaways; 'Stages', with the theme, Stages South Beach; and 'Colours', the Jokers Wild event.
On Sunday there will be the 'Wild Sides' party followed by the 'Appleton Temptation Live' show which features Jadakiss, along with a host of local artistes including Elephant Man, Turbulence, Tami Chynn, T.O.K and Wayne Marshall. The live show will be followed by after-parties 'Ripple Effect' and 'Ecstatic', and on Monday, 'Bikini Shorts', and 'White Nights' will round off the party spree.
"We would like you all to come out and enjoy yourselves as we bring to you these 11 events for the ATI weekend," Chin said.
ATI 2005 will be held from Friday, July 29 through to Monday August 1 in Negril.
