Burnt body found in cemetery

THE BURNT REMAINS of an unidentified man believed to be about 20 years old was found in the Calvary Cemetery on Lyndhurst Road, Kingston, yesterday.

The police were summoned to the scene after passers-by discovered the body in the cemetery.

When THE STAR went to the scene, the charred remains of the man's body laid in one of the paths in the cemetery. Police theorise that the man may have been shot and thrown in a barrel and then taken to the cemetery where he was set on fire.

The body was clad in blue jeans shirt, blue jeans and a pair of brown shoes.

An on the spot post mortem suggested that the man had died from a gunshot wound to the head. The Admiral Town police are investigating.
