LADY SAW'S BIRTHDAY party was a hit with the acts that were present, but those missing in action provided another story.
The show was held at the Reggae Beach just outside of Ocho Rios in St Ann, and billed a hit list of stars who are based both here and overseas. Among them were rapper Remy Ma and the Terror Squad, Freddie McGregor, Sanchez, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, and Sizzla.
As far as the show went however, even at minutes to 4 a.m., when some patrons started streaming out of the venue, these acts had not yet touched the stage.
Some patrons fumed with the promoters that Remy Ma and the Terror Squad never showed, neither did Freddie McGregor, and Sanchez among others. There were announcements that the acts were on their way but none showed up even at that time.
Even following the show, several patrons complained that for tickets which started at $900, they never got their full money's worth.
THE STAR checked with Hardrock Entertainment, Lady Saw's local booking agents who helped with the advertising of the show. Hardrock's boss Ian Coke referred THE STAR to Lady Saw herself as it was her birthday celebrations. Lady Saw however was said to be in Belize until Wednesday (today).
