St. Elizabeth fishermen missing

By RAYON DYER, STAR Writer

TWO FISHERMEN ARE feared dead after they failed to return from sea.

Glenford Drummond, 41, and Arhton Braham, 46, from Parrottee, St. Elizabeth, went fishing on July 3 and have not been seen since.

"My son is mentally challenged and we have not seen or heard from him since he left to assist Mr. Braham to draw his fishing pots at the Southwest bank near the Pedro Cays," said Glenford's mother Violet, adding that the men had no cellphones and searches had proved futile.

The local coast guard station say it is aware of the missing men and has been searching.

Arhton's mother, Lillian Brooks, spoke with him the evening before he left but said he did not tell her he was going fishing.

"I am very worried not seeing my son and not knowing whether or not he is dead or alive," Brooks said.

Efforts are being made by the local coast guard to have their Kingston counterparts assist with the search.
