Hats off for Asafa

THE EDITOR, Madam:

Kindly allow me space in your column to express my views with regards to our number one record holder awesome Asafa Powell.

I want to say that I am extremely elated about your record breaking achievement in Athens a few days ago. King Asafa, I cannot over emphasise what I feel about your golden achievement. I am quite sure that most Jamaicans feel the very same, so on behalf of myself and my fellow Jamaicans, I say kudos, hats off to you.

At this present time in Jamaica, where there is so much crime and violence that is plaguing our beautiful country, there came the news of your victory! It is like a soft healing to our wounds. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude to you.

In closing I would like to remind all trying persons like myself that after hard work then comes success. And if at first you do not succeed, dust yourself off and try again. This is Asafa and other achievers method. Let us all as a nation love and continue to support each other.

I am, etc.,

RADCLIFFE "RADO" ONFROY
