Dear Pastor,
I have been in a relationship for the past year with this guy that I have come to care for very deeply.
When I was in Jamaica, we did almost everything together and we told each other everything. Now that I am back in the United States, we talk on the phone every night.
The problem is that when I met him he was already involved with someone. I know this is wrong and I also know I will probably end up getting hurt.
However, I can't seem to let him go. He is the kindest, and the most understanding guy I have ever known. He treats me well and whenever I need a listening ear, he is always there. I know he cares for me a lot.
Pastor, please pray for me and give your advice on what I should do. Thank you.
D.F., Brooklyn, New York
Dear D.F.,
Expect anything from this relationship. You know this man is already involved with someone else, and because he is kind does not mean that you should have got involved with him. You are in New York. His other girl is here.
I am not saying that he will never marry you, because he may do so to get an opportunity to live in the United States of America, but would it be genuine love?
And, is it right to know that a man has a woman and for you to push yourself onto him? Remember, "what goes around, comes around".
Pastor
