THEY HAVE BEEN in the 'football wilderness' for a decade. But last Thursday they rewrote history by returning to Jamaica's top league after defeating Los Perfectos at Collie Smith Drive. I'm talking about the original football king pins Boys' Town affectionately called the 'Red Brigades'.
With leadership from coach and former player Andrew Price and support from other long time supporters, the team made this great achievement.
But moreso, it was more important for the South St. Andrew community, which is going through a transformation with new housing developments going up.
This will also help to instill positive spirits into the residents, who have been plagued with mostly negatives over the years.
To show how important it was for this community, even die-hearted Tivoli supporters turned out to give their support to the Red Brigades, which was a touching sight, for me at least, and I could just imagine the joy the hundreds of residents, who turned out, felt.
