Woman killed at wake

A 'DEAD YARD' event turned fatal yesterday when a 25-year-old woman was stabbed to death during an altercation with an 18-year-old woman in Knapdale district in Brown's Town, St. Ann.

The dead woman has been identified as 25-year-old Melissa Taylor of Knapdale district. Taylor is known for selling telephone accessories in the Brown's Town market.

Police reports are that at about 1:45 a.m., Taylor was at a wake in the District when an argument developed between herself and another woman.

A fight reportedly developed between them and Taylor was stabbed several times.

Taylor, who received several stab wounds, was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An 18-year-old woman, who was reportedly involved in the fight with Taylor, was taken into custody by the Brown's Town police. So far, she has not yet been charged and her name has been withheld pending further investigations.
