IT'S OFFICIAL. IT'S splitsville for the relationship of deejay Mr. Lex a.k.a 'The Prince' and his wife of two-and-a-half years, Tossan Campbell-Palmer, former Ms. Petite Jamaica 1999.
Sources close to the couple say that the couple's turbulent marriage has been 'on the rocks' for some time, but things took a turn for the worse when Mr. Lex moved out of the matrimonial home several weeks ago.
"I had to choose one, my career or my marriage, so mi choose mi career, mi have to penetrate that right now," Mr. Lex told THE STAR.
"I moved out a while ago, mi love her still but right now ah just one ting me de pon and that is my career, mi no know what the future might hold, we try counselling but it still no work out, so right now, mi just no know, but we not together," the deejay whose real name is Christopher Palmer said.
Contacted yesterday, Tossan, 25, denied that a divorce was in the works for the couple.
"There's no divorce, I still love my husband. We are not living together, we are separated...I don't really know what's going on, he moved out, and there's no other woman in the picture...that I know of," she told THE STAR.
"None of us are going to file for divorce, no, not right now," she said. The union has produced no children.
But 'The Prince' is adamant that the marriage is history.
"Mi nah look no relationship right now but technically mi single, so all my female fans need to know that I am available again. Mr Lex is back on the market," he said.
Speculation is rife about the reasons for the split and several rumours are now in circulation about the nature of the breakup. One source close to the couple confided that "the marriage was doomed to fail because ah de whole heap ah argument argument, dem in love but things were getting out of hand, crazy cheating and dem tings de ah gwaan."
