DANCEHALL ARTISTE SASHA, who was among the celebrities that attended the Cooyah XL Denim Launch party held at Boon Hall Oasis on Saturday has released a statement, expressing her disgust at the way in which she was treated on a shuttle bus after the party.
The statement, which was released on Sasha's behalf by her management company, E Logic Music Group (EMG), gave Sasha's version of an incident which led to her being robbed.
According to the statement, the incident happened early Sunday morning: "I was invited to an event held by Cooyah Clothing Brand with the understanding that I would be given the proper transportation to and from the event. At the conclusion of the evening, I had sprained my ankle and I simply could not walk the approximate half-mile distance from the venue to my car on my injured foot," Sasha is quoted as saying in the statement.
She continued: "This was the only reason I sought transportation on the shuttle bus that, unbeknownst to me, was meant for media and models. I was taken aback by the rather harsh and disrespectful treatment that I received from the woman who presented herself as being in charge of the bus. "
According to the report, Sasha attempted to get off the bus but was not allowed to leave and was told that she had to ride to a destination far from her vehicle.
"I was finally able to leave the bus in the vicinity of my vehicle but unfortunately, I had forgotten my purse. I realised this and returned to the vehicle to get my belongings and was told that my purse had been thrown out," she said.
"However, this was not the case. One of the people in the bus had corrected the statement and returned my purse to me. I later found out that there was money missing. As a result of this, an argument developed between myself and the lady in charge of the bus. I am sincerely sorry if this argument offended any of the parties present."
But despite the singer's obvious hurt from the incident she is not planning to take any legal action. "... What we would like is for the situation to die as quickly as possible," Sophia Campbell of EMG told THE STAR.
While admitting to being aware of the incident, Cooyah representative Gary Codner, said that he wished not to be caught in the middle.
"I'm not willing to get in between the cracks of it. The incident unfortunately happened on the press bus, but the shuttle bus was for international journalists and models only, not VIP," he said.
