Michael Jackson - file
THE MICHAEL JACKSON saga came to an end on Monday, June 13 with the pop star walking free of all child molestation charges.
The reports carried both in THE STAR and the Gleaner stated that there was no jubilation from Jackson and his family. The article stated that he looked straight ahead as the verdicts were read and showed no visible reaction.
The jury read this verdict 30 hours after a seven-day deliberation. The trial lasted three months. It is no wonder that there was no sense of fanfare from the Jackson camp as he left the courtroom.
While he has been deemed bizarre and 'wacko' numerous times, he has a long journey to repair what image he has left.
Prosecutors in the case described him as a deviant and a pervert who plied boys with booze and porn to molest them while the defence team painted him as a philanthropist with a need to protect children.
What must be noted is that there will always be the die-hard Jackson fans who will believe he can do no wrong while on the flip side there are those who will continue to condemn him even without hard evidence to prove his guilt.
