SEBA UNITED YESTERDAY took another step to National Premier League (NPL) promotion with a 1-0 win over Star Cosmos at the St. Mary Sports Complex.
Damion Williams' screamer from 35 metres in the first half carried Montego Bay-based Seba to their third win from as many games.
Seba now have nine points, four ahead of Boys' Town who clipped Los Perfectos 1-0 at Brooks Park in Mandeville. Los Perfectos remain on three points, ahead of Star Cosmos who are at the bottom with one point.
With only three return games left, Seba are a win away from clinching one of two places in next season's Premier League.
Coach Paul 'Tegat' Davis said he doesn't care how his team gets there.
"It was an ugly game, but the win is good. When you travel away from home, the home team normally puts pressure on you. We got the goal we needed and won the game," said Davis.
With nine points under his belt and qualification looking certain, Davis said he wants to keep his players focused.
Meanwhile, in St. Mary, Boys' Town fought hard to carve out a 1-0 win over Los Perfectos.
Andrew Wheeler scored the all-important goal for the Red Brigade in the 49th minute from about 20 yards out.
Coach of the winning team, Andrew Price, was very happy with the win.
"We needed these three points badly. We came on the road and we had to take it," Price said. Los Perfectos' coach, Bradley Stewart, was upset with his team's performance.
